The Schuylkill-Berks League league tournament began on Sunday with five best-of-three series to determine which teams will join the three league division champions in a double elimination tournament that begins on Wednesday.
The three division champions receiving byes into the double elimination segment of the postseason are Valley View (6-10, North), Hamburg (13-3, Central), and Muhlenberg (13-3, South).

Souderton currently leads the Bux-Mont League in Region 2, but their lead is anything but comfortable. With a 7-1-1 record Souderton holds first place by just a half game over Pennridge (5-0-1) and Perkiomen (7-2). Pottstown (4-4) is three games behind the leaders. Plumstead (5-6), Quakertown (4-5-1), Doylestown (4-5), and Nor-Gwyn (1-2) are all tied at 3.5 games back. A few familiar names sit atop the Berks County League's east division. The Bulldogs and Bears are a combined 18-2 in league play thus far. NorChester (10-1) enjoys a one game lead over Boyertown (8-1). NorChester's lone league loss has come at the hands of Boyertown in the league opener. Rain plagued a large number of games in southeast PA this week, leading to a number of postponements. Through play on 6/6, the leagues in Region 2 are shaping up as follows:
With only a handful of league games played, Boyertown (east) and Exeter (west) lead their respective divisions. Shillington and Twin Valley are still awaiting their first league contest of the spring.

A slew of updates have been posted for all of the leagues in Region 2. The most up to date results can be found on the Region 2 schedule/results page and each of the standings pages has been updated as well. As always this time of year, weather and high school playoffs have caused a large number of postponements.

The schedules for every team in the Schuylkill-Berks League in Region 2 have been added to the Region 2 schedule listing. Please note that a number of games have already been postponed due to high school playoffs.

The Northampton County League in Region 2 has re-aligned to three divisions for the upcoming season. Kemp Post will not be fielding a team in 2015 and, as a result, the North Division has been dissolved. East Stroudsburg will move to the East Division, Big Pocono will move to the West Division, and the Birches will move to the South Division.

The Schuylkill-Berks League of Region 2 has switched from its previous two division alignment to a new three division layout. Previously, the league has employed a north division that was comprised of Schuylkill County teams and a south division comprised of Berks County teams. This summer, a third central division will incorporate several teams from the existing north and south divisions.

The Region 2 Tournament has featured some of the closest games across the state this weekend. On Saturday, Pine Grove of the Schuylkill-Berks League edged out the Birches of the Northampton County League 3-2 in twelve innings. NorChester, the Berks County champion, topped NorCo champion Bath 4-3. The Berks County League is down to three teams. NorChester earned a berth into the tournament's championship game with a winner's bracket final win over Exeter. They await the winner of Monday night's game between rivals West Lawn in Boyertown. Boyertown defeated West Lawn in the opener and NorChester on Sunday.

Once a common site for regular and postseason legion baseball games, Balliet Stadium in Coplay has played a diminished role since it sustained damage during Superstorm Sandy several years ago. A committee seeking funds to help renovate the stadium and restore it to its previous prominence has been formed.

Postseason league tournaments gear up across the state this week, so we thought we'd take some time to take a look back at which teams represented their league in state regionals last season. First up, Region 2.

Host Brooklawn eliminated Twin Valley this afternoon by a score of 12-6. As a result, Brooklawn will move on to the final day of the Mid-Atlantic Regional undefeated. The Brookers will play West Seneca, NY at 1pm. A Brooklawn win will give the New Jersey champs their third straight trip to the American Legion World Series. West Seneca must win to force a decisive final game.

Twin Valley and Boyertown will meet for the eighth and final time this season on Saturday afternoon, as they both try to remain alive in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament. Twin Valley elminated Gibbsboro, NJ on Friday morning by a 12-2 score. In the day's delayed nightcap, Boyertown lost to host Brooklawn 6-4. Twin Valley and Boyertown will be back in action on the second day of the MId-Atlantic Regional in Camden, NJ. Twin Valley, a 3-1 loser to Stahl Post on Thursday, will begin the day with a matchup against Gibbsboro, NJ in Game 5. The game is set to begin at 9:30am. Boyertown defeated West Seneca, NY 6-2 behind the strong pitching of Tyler Bauman. The Bears meet host team and long time rival Brooklawn, NJ in Friday's nightcap.
