The Fayette County Playoffs begin Sunday with two games, and the tournament will continue through Saturday. The opening round matchups are below and the results will be updated as the games are completed. The tournament champion will advance to the Region 6 Tournament which will be hosted by Uniontown.

Sunday, July 8

The District 11 Playoffs begin July 10 with two games scheduled. The league champion will join host Dickson City at the Region 5 Tournament which begins July 20.

Fayette County in Region 6 will begin its league playoffs on Wednesday with 4 games. Top seed Connellsville will host Jefferson Morgan in one first round contest. Other matchups pair Farmington and Belle Vernon, Colonial 3 and Uniontown, and Smithfield and Carmichaels. The double elimination tournament is scheduled to run through Sunday. We'll post updates on results as the games are completed.

The Fayette County League postseason tournament schedule is below.  The tournament will be a 7 team double elimination tournament.

Blackhawk continues to pace the Beaver County league as a whole, sitting atop the west division with a 7-0 record.  New Brighton (6-2) and Beaver Falls (5-3) are trailing closely behind.  Brighton Township (3-7) and Zelienople (1-8 ) round out the division.

In the east division, Hopewell (6-1) lead the way with Center-Monaca (4-1) a game back.  Ambridge-Baden currently sits in third with a 5-5 record, Freedom in fourth at 2-8, and South Side in fifth at 1-5.

Rain forced the postponement of three of the four opening round games on Saturday.  The lone game to be completed featured West Mifflin of the Allegheny South League and Hopewell of the Beaver County League.  The undefeated West Mifflin squad continued its winning ways, advancing to the winner's bracket with a 10-2 win.

Allegheny East

Monroeville and Springdale were the league's two representatives in the regional tournament.  Monroeville won it's regional opener 10-9 over Uniontown.  The team was not as fortunate in their next two days, dropping games to eventual champion Blackhawk and Connellsville.  Springdale went 0-2 at the tournament, losing a run-rule shortened game against Blackhawk and another to Uniontown.

Last season, the only thing that could stop West Mifflin's march to a Region 6 title and state tournament berth was perennial regional power Blackhawk and the state's top pitcher, Brendan McKay.  Though they finished one win shy last year, this year's squad appears poised to build on that past success.

In a game that ended just moments ago, the Blackhawk Cougars, Pennsylvania's third place team, dropped a thrilling game to New Jersey state champion Brooklawn.  Blackhawk battled back from a four run deficit and was the beneficiary of several unearned runs after some shaky defensive plays by the Brookers.
